Astro Camp
8th graders are amazed that in our own backyard is a spectacular camping experience that includes the exploration of physics, chemistry, and astronomy. Using the 8th grade science curriculum the students are able to apply the concepts they have learned by building and shooting off rockets, working with telescopes, building devices for landing on another planet, experiencing micro-gravity and more. This has helped our students be even more successful on their CA science testing. They are also challenged individually and as a group with a high ropes course activity. Many students consider this trip the highlight of Middle School. If you would like to sponsor a deserving student please contact us at idyllwildschoolboosterclub@gmail.com

Catalina Trip at CIMI

7th grade students of Idyllwild School are lucky enough to be able to go to the Catalina Island Marine Institute for three days and two nights of snorkling, maring biology, oceanography and studying island ecology. For many of our students this is a first chance at being on, in, and exploring an ocean environment. Although this is our most expensive trip, due to additional transportation cost, it is often most memorable. If you would like to make a tax deductible sponsorship of an Idyllwild student or a tax deductible donation toward ever increasing transportation costs, contact us at

Joshua Tree

6th Graders have the opportunity to explore the desert environment while team building and applying new science concepts. Rock climbing, spelunking, and scrambling are only the beginning of the three day experience. Students get to apply their knowledge of desert flora and fauna, geology, astronomyand metereology while engaging in cooperative activities to build self-esteem as well as responsibilty. If you are interested in a tax deductible sponsorship of an Idyllwildat child for this Joshua Tree trip, please contact us at idyllwildschoolboosterclub@gmail.com
